Great Results From Chess Gaja Tournament – July 2021

Chessgyaan academy hosted two internal academy tournaments for its students on July 10, 2021, and we now have the results from the event!

The morning tournament started at 11 AM IST and the evening one was held from 11 PM IST and both the events were conducted in an arena format for 1 hour, and the time control was 5 minutes + 2 seconds increment for each move.

GrandMaster Priyadharshan participated in both the events to give high-level game practice to the students, and Priyadharshan won the morning event with a score of 4/4. In 2nd place, we had Prahalad, who scored 3/5, and in 3rd place, we had academy coach Bala who scored 2/6.

In our evening 11 PM IST event, we had Adithya from the US win the event with a perfect 4/4, followed by Vijay from the US, who scored 4/6 and in 3rd place was GM Priyadharshan, who joined late and scored 3/3 to round up the top-3 spots.

These events are held generally on the 2nd Saturday of a month, and our academy students from 12+ countries get to test their knowledge by competing among themselves, and Priyadharshan also regularly joins these events to give the students a chance to play against a Grand Master!
