Vijay finishing 7th at $4000 Houston Chess Studio Open 2022

The $4,000 HOUSTON CHESS STUDIO OPEN was held from January 15-16, 2022, in Houston, TX, USA. 4 Students of ChessGaja participated in the tournament and tested their skills against the brightest players from all across the U.S, Below is the list of the 4 student participants:

Sahithi participated in the U1600 section, She started strong but then, after a bunch of losses, finally ended the tournament with a score of 2.5 out of 5 points, and finished 9th in the final ranking.

The other participant in the Open section were Anish and Mihika, they finished 33rd and 35th in the ranking list. It was an on-par performance for both of them and they stayed close to their USCF rating.

The highlight performance of all the students was by Vijay, who scored 3.5/5 in the same Open Category and was able to improve his rating from 1878 to 1885 and stood 7th in the final rankings list!
