Check out the Result of the Houston Summer Championship – 2022

The Chess Refinery conducted TCR: Houston Summer Championship 2022 in Houston, Texas, from 20 – 21 August 2022.

In this tournament, Chess Gaja students Vijay and Vaseegaran participated in the championship section, and Anish, Mihika, and Sahithi participated in the amateur section.

Vaseegaran finished fourth in this tournament with a score of 3.5 out of 5. He won the first two games and lost the third game to high-rated player Ryo(2360) and managed to draw the fourth game and won the last game.

His rating point increased from 2184 to 2186.

Vijay scored 2.5 out of 5 points with two wins, two losses, and one draw. He lost his second and fifth games against high-rated players Vaseegaran(2184) and Jack(2318).

His rating point increased from 1960 to 1972.

Anish finished second in the amateur section, scoring 4 out of 5. He won the first three games and lost the fourth game against high-rated player Monishkiruppa(1720) and won the last game.

His rating point increased from 1713 to 1724.

Sahithi scored 3.5 out of 5 with 3 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss.

Mihika scored 3 out of 5 with 2 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss. Notably, she managed to draw against high-rated players Santiago(1532) and Mihail(1609).

Her rating point increased from 1375 to 1437.
