Vedant’s Rating Surge and Priyansh’s Remarkable Draw: Chess Gaja at Gambito-1017

The Gambito-1017 tournament, organized by the San Diego Chess Club, took place on June 9-11, 2023, in San Diego, California.

Chess Gaja students Vedant and Priyansh showcased their skills in the tournament.

In the Elite section, Vedant achieved a score of 2.5 out of 4 points. Despite a loss against the eventual 1st place winner in one of the rounds, Vedant’s performance was commendable. He gained 10 rating points, elevating his rating from 2041 to 2051.

Priyansh secured 2 out of 4 points in the tournament. Notably, he drew against a higher-rated player with a rating of 2274.
