Impressive Performance: Chess Gaja Students Excel at the 2023 National Open

VEGAS CHESS FESTIVALS organized the 2023 NATIONAL OPEN tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada, from June 14-18, 2023.

Several Chess Gaja students participated in the event, showcasing their skills and determination.

In the U2100 section, Priyansh demonstrated exceptional skill, scoring an impressive 5.5 out of 7 points. His outstanding performance earned him a well-deserved 6th place out of 190 players. Not only did Priyansh secure his position among the top players, but he also gained 20 rating points, elevating his rating from 2071 to an impressive 2091.

Neil showcased his talent and determination in the U2100 section, achieving a commendable score of 3.5 out of 7 points. His strong performance resulted in a gain of 10 rating points, boosting his rating from 1839 to 1849.

In the highly competitive Open section, Vaseegaran demonstrated his mettle against formidable opponents. With a score of 4.5 out of 9 points, Vaseegaran showcased his strategic prowess throughout the tournament. Despite a loss against a higher-rated player with a remarkable rating of 2571, Vaseegaran’s performance earned him a gain of 2 rating points. His rating now stands at an impressive 2239, after starting at 2237.

Ronak, competing in the Open section, displayed unwavering determination throughout his games. With a score of 3.5 out of 9 points and a loss against a higher-rated player with a rating of 2356, Ronak faced tough challenges with great sportsmanship.
