23-Point Rating Gain by Hemachandra in Michigan Chess Tournament

US Chess Federation conducted Wednesday Quads on August 2, 2023, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Chess Gaja student Hemachandra participated in this tournament under the Quad A section. He tied for 1st place with a score of 2.5 out of 3. His notable performances were his win against a higher-rated player Manis(2211) and his draw against a higher-rated player Asish(2182).

This great performance increased Hemachndra’s rating from 2118 to 2141, which is 23 point rating gain.
