The Texas Chess Center hosted the DFW FIDE Royale 2023, a prestigious chess tournament held in Irving, Texas, from July 21 to July 23, 2023.
Numerous students from Chess Gaja participated in this highly anticipated event. In the Championship section, Maurya showcased his skills and achieved a commendable score of 2.5 out of 5 points. Notably, he secured a victory against a higher-rated player, Shaurya (rated 1809), which significantly contributed to his rating improvement from 1685 to 1706. Another participant, Shriyan, also scored 2.5 out of 5 points, successfully maintaining his current rating of 1607.
Moving on to the Reserve section, Aryan played with determination and earned 2 out of 5 points in the tournament.
