Chess Gaja students have been on fire this week, battling it out at tournaments across the US, like seasoned warriors!
Here’s a closer look at their achievements by state:
Texas
In Houston, Anish participated in the June 15th 2024 Saturday Swiss at N: Open organized by The Poison Pawns Chess Club. Anish played well, scoring 2.0 out of 3 points. His USCF rating increased from 1789 to 1809, a testament to his solid play in the tournament.
Over in Austin, Vividh joined the AGCA 17th Tournament (TX)2: Below 1600 by the Austin Grandmaster Chess Academy on June 15, 2024. With an increase, Vividh’s USCF rating went from 1078 to 1079, showing his progress in the game.
Saathvik took part in the Final Carrollton Sunday Swiss-Open (TX)1: Open Section organized by the Texas Chess Center in Carrollton, TX, on June 16, 2024. Saathvik scored 2.5 out of 4 points, raising USCF his rating from 2018 to 2024. His performance here reflects his steady improvement and strong play.
New York
In Lake George, Priyansh excelled at the 28th Annual NY State Open hosted by the Continental Chess Association from June 14 to June 16, 2024. With a remarkable score of 4.0 out of 5 points, Priyansh secured 2nd place and increased his USCF rating from 2182 to 2200. This outstanding result highlights his skill and determination in the competition.
California
In San Diego, Ruhan competed in the Gambito-1057 (CA)1: Elite organized by the San Diego Chess Club on June 15, 2024. Ruhan’s USCF rating was adjusted from 2052 to 2051. This shows his continued effort to maintain his high level of play.
Also in San Diego, Vian joined the Gambito-1057 (CA)3: U1700 hosted by the San Diego Chess Club on June 15, 2024. Vian’s USCF rating improved from 1567 to 1577, marking another step forward in his chess journey.
Georgia
In Alpharetta, Anhad played in the GCC Friday Knight Face-Off 06-14 (GA)5: U600 organized by the Georgia Chess Club, LLC on June 14, 2024. Anhad scored 2.0 out of 3 points, increasing his USCF rating from 477 to 486. His progress is a great indication of his growing understanding and skill in chess.
Pennsylvania
In Yardley, Anirudh participated in the Lower Bucks Chess League (PA)2: LBCA Wednesday League at the Lower Bucks Chess Academy on June 12, 2024. Scoring 1.0 out of 1 point, Anirudh’s USCF rating went from 604 to 612. This success adds to his string of positive results.
