Our Chess Gaja students have continued to excel with impressive performances in recent chess tournaments across various states. Here’s a detailed report of their achievements:

New York

Priyansh competed in the 146th Annual New York State Championship in Albany, New York, organized by the Continental Chess Association, from August 30 to September 2, 2024. Priyansh’s rating increased from 2199 to 2204, and he finished with a score of 4 out of 6 points.

Vermont

Vivek participated in the Chittenden Saturday Ladder 1 in South Burlington, Vermont, organized by the Vermont Chess Association, on August 31, 2024. Vivek’s rating improved from 1482 to 1508, and he achieved a perfect score of 1 out of 1, defeating a player with a 1530 rating.

Illinois

Gurugrahan competed in the 2024 Illinois Open in Lisle, Illinois, organized by Wilson’s Chess & King Registration, from August 30 to September 2, 2024. Gurugrahan’s rating increased from 1892 to 1912, and he scored 5 out of 7 points.

Texas

Yugan participated in the SFS September Sunday #1 in Frisco, Texas, organized by 64Squares, on September 1, 2024. Yugan’s rating rose from 1532 to 1550, and he secured 1st place with a perfect score of 3 out of 3 points.

Sanjay competed in the Labor Day Scholastic event in Plano, Texas, organized by the Texas Chess Center, on September 2, 2024. Despite a slight rating decrease from 1908 to 1907, Sanjay finished with an impressive 3.5 out of 4 points and won 1st place.

Prathit took part in the Knights of Cypress event in Cypress, Texas, organized by the Houston Scholastic Chess Association, on August 31, 2024. Prathit’s rating increased from 1346 to 1379, and he finished with a score of 2 out of 3 points, achieving 2nd place.

California

Ammar competed in the CalChess U1000 State Championship in Milpitas, California, was organized by Bay Area Chess, on August 31, 2024. Ammar’s rating increased from 630 to 858, finishing with a score of 4 out of 5 points and securing 3rd place.
