Chronicles of Chess Champions(March 7 – 12, 2024)

Chess Gaja students showed excellence and showcased their talents in multiple events held in the United States this fortnight (March 7–12, 2024). We have segmented our student performances by state in this blog!

California Chess Tournament

The San Diego Chess Club conducted the SDCC March Scholastic on March 10, 2024. Dhruvan finished 9th by scoring 2.5 out of 4 points in Section 2-U700.  This good performance increased his USCF rating from 523 to 621.

Texas Chess Tournament

The F & B Trophies conducted the 2024 Lone Star Open Chess Champions Tournament on March 10, 2024. Several Chess Gaja students participated in this tournament.

In the open section, Neil scored 2.5 points out of 5 rounds and this great performance increased his USCF rating from 2031 to 2039. Vaseegaran finished 4th with a score of 4 out of 5 points, this great performance increased his rating from 2289 to 2297. Anish scored 2 out of 5 points. This good performance increased his USCF rating from 1737 to 1755.

Ramanathan finished 3rd by scoring 4 out of 5 points in the Under-1600 Section.  This good performance increased his USCF rating from 1507 to 1564.

Ohio Chess Tournament

Sathvik finished 12th in the 2024 SPRING OPEN, conducted by the Dublin Chess Center on March 9, 2024. In the open section, Sathvik scored 2 out of 4 points.This good performance increased his USCF rating from 1632 to 1664.

New York Chess Tournament

Priyansh finished 5th in the 56th NY STATE SCHOLASTIC CHAMPIONSHIPS conducted by the Continental Chess Association on March 9, 2024. In the Middle School Champs section, Priyansh scored 5 out of 6 points. This was a solid performance by Priyansh and his USCF rating increased from 2167 to 2171.

Virginia Chess Tournament

Nitish finished 10th in the 2024 VA Scholastic and College Championship Tournament conducted by the Virginia Chess Federation on March 2, 2024. In the section k-3 championship, Nitish scored 3 out of 5 points and this strong performance increased his USCF rating from 643 to 722.

California Chess Tournament

Ruhan finished 3rd in the GAMBITO-1047 tournament conducted by the San Diego Chess Club on March 9, 2024. In the open section, Ruhan scored 3.5 out of 4 points. This was a solid performance, increased his USCF rating from 1937 to 1970.
