Results of 2nd Annual Forester open

Blakeman Chess conducted the 2nd Annual Forester Open from November 23 – 27 2022 in Frisco, Texas.

Chess Gaja students Vijay, Lohit, Neil, Vishnu, and Anish participated in this tournament under the U2300 section.

Vijay had a strong showing at this tournament, finishing in 8th place with a score of 4 out of 7 points, with his only loss coming against the eventual runner-up Kyle (1930)

Lohit put in a solid performance, scoring 3.5 out of 7 points. This included 2 wins, 3 draws, and 2 losses, with one of his wins coming against the highly-rated player Logan (1934). This impressive showing improved Lohit’s rating from 1793 to 1819.

Neil scored 3 out of 7 points. He lost his games against higher-rated players Brian(2170) and Ethan(1926).

Vishnu scored 3 out of 7 points. He won one of his games against higher-rated player Neil(1817).

Anish had a mediocre tournament with a score of 2 out of 7 points.  

Chess Gaja student Saatvik participated in this tournament under the U2100 section.

Saatvik scored 3 out of 7 points. 

Chess Gaja students Shriyan and Arjun participated in this tournament under the U1900 section.

Shriyan had a great performance at the 2nd Annual Forester Open, scoring 4 out of 7 points, with all 3 wins coming against higher-rated players Ethan (1676), Risheeth (1679), and Arjun (1639). This impressive showing improved Shriyan’s rating from 1560 to 1612.

Arjun had an average performance at the tournament with a score of 2.5 out of 5 points.

Chess Gaja student Mihika participated in this tournament under the U1700 section.

Mihika scored 3 out of 7 points. Notably, he won against higher-rated player Dylan(1624). This good performance increased Mihika’s rating from 1425 to 1439.
