SAN DIEGO CHESS CLUB conducted the ISSAC WANG OPEN Tournament on April 19 to May 17, 2023, in San Diego California.
Chess Gaja students, Priyansh and Vedant took part in the tournament.
In the Open section, Priyansh and Vedant scored 7 out of 9 points. In one of the rounds, Priyansh lost against a higher rated player with a rating of 2266, who secured 2nd in the tournament.
In one of the rounds, Vedant lost against a higher rated player with a rating of 2115, who secured 3rd in the tournament. His solid performance helped him gain 2 rating points and his rating jumped from 1998 to 2000.
