Chess Gaja Students Vihaan, Vijay, and Aayush to compete in Prestigious Rockefeller Tournament

The John D. Rockefeller III National Tournament invites the state champions to compete for the 2023 National Title.

The Rockefeller event is one of four national invitationals held with the US Open. The other three invitationals are the Denker, Barber, and Haring.

The Rockefeller is a prestigious event that attracts the top elementary school chess players in the country. The winner of the Rockefeller qualifies for the World Youth or the World Cadet Championship and the U.S. Cadet Championship.

As the best players of every state at the K-5 level participate, the Rockefeller event becomes a prestigious event at the U.S. age category level.

Chess Gaja Students Vihaan, Vijay, and Aayush to compete in Prestigious Rockefeller Tournament in Michigan

Three Chess Gaja students from Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Texas will participate in the upcoming John D. Rockefeller III National Tournament of Elementary School State Champions.

Vihaan, from Minnesota, has a peak rating of 2007 and has won several tournaments, including April Fool’s Tornado 2023. Vijay holds a peak rating of 1988 and has been victorious in several tournaments, including the 2021 National K-12 Grade Championships and the Texas Super State School Championship.. Aayush from Oklahoma has a peak rating of 1301 and has given a great performance in tournaments like Classen K-12 Open and Divertimento Riccorente II.

Our students are proud representatives of their respective states in the Rockefeller Tournament. We at Chess Gaja are proud that 3 of our students are taking part in this big national event.
