The Texas Chess Center conducted a Sunday Swiss tournament in Carrollton, Texas on September 24th, 2023.
Our Chess Gaja students Neil, Gurugrahan, Shriyan, Arjun, and Ozayr participated in the tournament under the open section.
Neil delivered a strong performance, scoring 3 points out of 4, and securing a tie for the 2nd place. His victories against Cooper (1512) and Shriyan (1810), along with a draw against Huanzhi (1864) and Jingtu (1652), boosted his rating from 1873 to 1879.
Gurugrahan also impressed with 3 points out of 4, sharing the 2nd spot. He achieved notable wins against high-rated players Sanjay (1706), Saatvik (1315), and Shravan (1300), which led to a remarkable rating increase from 1532 to 1588.
Shriyan, with 2.5 points out of 4, showcased his skills with a significant victory over the high-rated player Jack (1972), resulting in a rating climb from 1810 to 1811.
Arjun secured 2 points out of 4, registering wins against Akshay (1428) and Julian (1505).
Ozayr scored 1 point out of 4, achieving a notable victory over Krishaanu (1188).
