The Texas Chess Center conducted the Plano Swiss tournament in Plano, Texas on October 28, 2023.
Our Chess Gaja students Sanjay, Akshay, and Arjun participated in the tournament under the open section.
Sanjay scored 3 points out of 4 and ranked 3rd in the event. He won his games against Ellery (1711), Shivanandhan (1333), Siddharth (1297). This extraordinary performance increased his rating from 1797 to 1799.
Arjun scored 2.5 points out of 4. He drew his games against the high-rated players Tianjun (2010), Christos (1829), and Rusheel (1861). So, this increased Arjun’s rating by 25 points from 1728 to 1753.
Akshay scored 1.5 points out of 4. His notable draw was against a high-rated player Rusheel (1861) by which his rating has been increased from 1505 to 1510.
