Chess Gaja students showed excellence and showcased their talents in multiple events held in the United States this fortnight (April 17–24, 2024). We have segmented our student performances by state in this blog!

Texas Chess Tournament

The Texas Chess Center conducted PLANO SWISS 042024 on April 20 , 2024. Yugan scored 2 out of 4 points in the Plano Open Section. This was a good performance by Yugan and his USCF rating increased from 1402 to 1435.

California Chess Tournament

Ruhan finished 6th in the GAMBITO -1051 conducted by the San Diego Chess Club on April 20, 2024. In the Open section, Ruhan scored 3 out of 4 points and this strong performance increased his USCF rating from 1926 to 1936.

Maryland Chess Tournament

On April 19–24, 2024, Maryland Chess Association organized the 6th Maryland Open  which featured a standout performance from our Chess Gaja student, Priyansh, who finished 5th in the tournament and showcased significant progress during the event, securing a commendable score of 3.5 out of 5 rounds. This strong performance increased his USCF rating by 55 points, from 2150 to 2205.

In this tournament,  he secured a victory against a Grand Master and managed a draw against another GrandMaster, and he also achieved the title of National Master.

Congratulations to these Chess Gaja students for their exceptional performance! We wish them the best of luck in their future chess tournaments.
