Chess Gaja students showcased their skills across multiple states in the U.S., from Florida to Washington, competing in prestigious tournaments between August 29 and September 14, 2025. Let’s take a look at their inspiring performances!

Florida

In Tampa, FL, Dhriti played in the Tampa Bay Rated August 2025 on August 30, scoring 3/4 and gaining a remarkable +92 rating points (725 → 817). A fantastic performance reflecting steady progress!

New Jersey

Ishanth participated in the Westfield Octos 09/14/2025 in Westfield, NJ, scoring 2/3 and raising his rating from 686P21 to 718P24.
Vihaan M. also played in the Westfield Octos on the same day, gaining experience and showing resilience with tough games.

New York

In Albany, NY, Priyansh competed in the prestigious 147th Annual NY State Championship on September 1. He delivered a strong performance with 4.5/6, earning a rating boost from 2236 to 2245—solid consistency at a high level!

Texas

Shankaranarayanan participated in the CCC Labor Day Chess Tournament in Coppell, TX on August 31, finishing with 3.5/5 and improving his rating from 1600 to 1607.

Vermont

In Craftsbury Common, VT, Vivek shined at the Stridsberg Fall Scholastic on September 14, scoring 4/4 with a perfect run and pushing his rating from 1639 to 1641. An inspiring all-win finish!

California

Yashvasin took part in the 100th Anniversary CalChess State Open Championship in La Palma, CA on September 1, battling in a challenging field and gaining valuable tournament experience.
Surya also played in the same event, scoring 4/7 and boosting his rating from 1643 to 1656.
Meanwhile, in Santa Clara, CA, Tharsikan played the Santa Clara U1000 Championship on August 30, scoring 3/5 and making steady rating gains (515 → 521).

Washington

In Bellevue, WA, Vihaan R. participated in the Grand Knights Quads on August 29, gaining valuable practice and lifting his rating from 458 to 525 with a score of 2/3.

California (San Diego Highlight)

Vian competed in the Gambito -1105 held in San Diego, CA on September 6, scoring 3/4 and achieving a big rating jump from 1747 to 1803—crossing the 1800 milestone! This was one of the standout performances of the fortnight.
