Arlington Chess Club Open 76: Good Performance by Chess Gaja Students

The Arlington Chess Club organized the Arlington Chess Club Open 76 tournament on June 3, 2023, in Arlington, Texas.

Several Chess Gaja students participated in the tournament.

In the Open section, Lohit scored an impressive 3 out of 4 points. He had a draw against a player who eventually secured 1st place in the tournament. Lohit’s strong performance led to a gain of 9 rating points, raising his rating from 1944 to 1953.

Mahit scored 1 out of 4 points, facing a loss against a higher-rated player with a rating of 1965 in one of the rounds and Mahit exhibited determination throughout the tournament.

In the Reserve under 1500 section, Gurugrahan achieved a score of 3 out of 4 points. His strong performance resulted in a gain of 6 rating points, elevating his rating from 1324 to 1330.
