The Plano Saturday Swiss tournament, organized by the Texas Chess Center, took place on June 10, 2023, in Plano, Texas.
Chess Gaja students Lohit, Shriyan, and Aayush participated in the tournament, displaying remarkable skills.
In the Open section, Lohit achieved a score of 2 out of 4 points, winning both games he played. His strong performance resulted in a gain of 7 rating points, elevating his rating from 1990 to 1997.
Shriyan secured 2 out of 4 points, facing a challenging loss against a higher-rated player who eventually secured 1st place in the tournament. Nonetheless, Shriyan’s solid performance resulted in a gain of 16 rating points, raising his rating from 1512 to 1528.
In the Under 1400 section, Aayush scored an impressive 3 out of 4 points, with his only loss coming against a higher-rated player who eventually secured 1st place in the tournament. Aayush’s strong performance resulted in a gain of 23 rating points, elevating his rating from 1235 to 1258.
