The TCR: Houston City Championship 2023 tournament was organized by THE CHESS REFINERY on June 24-25, 2023, in Houston, Texas.
Several Chess Gaja students participated in the tournament.
In the CHAMPIONSHIP section, Lohit scored 3.5 out of 5 points, including a loss against a higher-rated player with a rating of 2518. His strong performance led to a gain of 22 rating points, raising his rating from 2006 to 2028.
Vijay scored 2 out of 5 points, showcasing determination throughout the tournament. He managed to secure a draw against a higher-rated player with a rating of 2161.
In the Club section, Anish scored 3.5 out of 5 points, resulting in a gain of 11 rating points and raising his rating from 1736 to 1747.
Mihika scored 1.5 out of 5 points, achieving a draw against a higher-rated player with a rating of 1739. Her strong performance earned her a gain of 5 rating points, increasing her rating from 1575 to 1580.
