US Chess Federation conducted the 4th Annual Rockefeller National Tournament from July 29 – August 1 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Chess Gaja students Vijay, Vihaan, and Aayush participated in this tournament under the Rockefeller section.
Vijay tied for 2nd place in this tournament with a score of 4.5 out of 6. Notably, he won one of his games against a higher-rated player Bryan(2063) and managed to draw against John(2073) who is tied for 1st place in this tournament. This great performance increased Vijay’s rating from 1891 to 1921.
Vihaan scored 3.5 out of 6 points and Aayush scored 2.5 out of 6 points. Notably, he won his games against higher-rated players Whitney(1376) and Neeli(1465). This good performance increased Aayush’s rating from 1304 to 1319.
