Chronicles of chess champions

Chess Gaja students demonstrated excellence and showcased their talents in multiple events held in the United States last week(11th to 17th January 2024). Below is the list of events along with their results.

PLANO SWISS 011324

The Texas Chess Center hosted the PLANO SWISS 011324 on January 13, 2024, in Plano, where an impressive performance from our Chess Gaja student was witnessed. Maurya demonstrated progress by scoring 1686 to 1707 by winning 3 out of 4 rounds. Sanjay demonstrated notable progress by scoring  2.5 out of 4 rounds, resulting in an increase in his rating from 1730 to 1735.

2024 CARDINAL OPEN

On January 12-14, 2024, the COLOMBUS CHESS CENTER  hosted the 2024 CARDINAL OPEN  in Columbus,  where impressive performances from our Chess Gaja students were witnessed. Sathvik demonstrated notable progress by increasing his rating from 1660 to 1666. Abinav scored 2.5 out of 5 rounds and increased his rating from 2009 to 2012 in the open section.

KNIGHTS OF CYPRESS

The Houston Scholastic Chess Association, hosted by the KNIGHTS OF CYPRESS in Cypress, showcased remarkable performances, particularly from our Chess Gaja student, Ramanathan, Demonstrating impressive progress. He achieved a score of 1.5 out of 3 rounds, elevating his rating from 1460 to 1478.

NEW YEAR-S OPEN 2024

On January 13, 2024, the Complete Chess organized NEW YEAR-S OPEN 2024 in San Antonio, featured a standout performance from our Chess Gaja student, Sadhana showcased significant progress during the event, securing a commendable score of 2 out of 4 rounds. Sadhana not only showed his strategic skill but also saw a significant increase in his rating, going up from 1133 to 1138.

DKO 2024

On January 13, 2024, San Diego Chess Club, hosted the DKO 2024 in Los Angeles, where our Chess Gaja student Ruhan delivered an impressive performance. Ruhan showcased notable progress throughout the event, by increasing his rating from 1935 to 1954.

SFS JANUARY SUNDAY #2

The SFS JANUARY SUNDAY #2 hosted by the 64 Squares in Frisco on 14 January 2024, highlighted a remarkable performance from our Chess Gaja student, Arjun. Throughout the event, Arjun demonstrated noteworthy progress, securing a solid score of 3.5 out of 5 rounds and increasing his rating from 1213 to 1233.

2024 CHARLOTTE OPEN  

The 2024 CHARLOTTE OPEN hosted by the Charlotte Chess Center from 13-15 January 2024, highlighted a remarkable performance from our Chess Gaja student, Vihaan. Throughout the event, Vihaan demonstrated noteworthy progress, securing a solid score of 5 out of 6 rounds and increasing his rating from 1939 to 2008. He won against higher-rated players Noah (2040) and Steve(1940).
