Chess Gaja students showed excellence and showcased their talents in multiple events held in the United States this fortnight (March 14–20, 2024). We have segmented our student performances by state in this blog!

Texas Chess Tournament

Sanjay finished 6th in the Frisco Swiss 031724 Tournament conducted by the Texas Chess Center on March 17, 2024. In the championship section, Sanjay scored 2.5 out of 4 points and this strong performance increased his USCF rating from 1779 to 1794. Akshay demonstrated progress by winning 2 out of 4 rounds and increasing his rating from 1478 to 1499.

Neil finished 8th in the Texas Spring Championship 2024 Tournament conducted by the Texas Chess Center on March 16, 2024. In the open section, Neil scored 2.5 out of 4 points. This good performance increased his USCF rating from 2039 to 2043. Arush scored 1.5 out of 4 points and his USCF rating increased from 1834 to 1842.

On March 15, 2024, the Houston Scholastic Chess Association organized Knights of Cypress, which featured a standout performance from our Chess Gaja student, Ram, who showcased significant progress during the event, securing a commendable score of 3 out of 3 rounds. This strong performance increased Ram’s USCF rating by 55 points, from 1564 to 1619.
