Chronicles of Chess Champions (April 11–16, 2024)

Chess Gaja students showed excellence and showcased their talents in multiple events held in the United States this fortnight (April 4–10, 2024). We have segmented our student performances by state in this blog!

Texas Chess Tournament

Ram finished 3rd in the Knights of Cypress Tournament conducted by the Houston Scholastic Chess Association on April 12, 2024. In the champ section, Ram scored 2 out of 3 points and this strong performance increased his USCF rating from 1550 to 1562.

On April 12, 2024, The Texas Chess Center organized the DFW FIDE ROYALE which featured a standout performance from our Chess Gaja student, Vikash, who showcased significant progress during the event, securing a commendable score of 2.5 out of 5 rounds. This strong performance increased his USCF rating by 37 points, from 1660 to 1697.

California Chess Tournament

The San Diego Chess Club conducted GAMBITO -1050 on April 13 , 2024. Ruhan scored 2 out of 4 points in the Elite Section. This was a good performance by Ruhan and his USCF rating increased from 1912 to 1926.

Ohio Chess Tournament

The Cincinnati Chess Club conducted 2024 Cincinnati Open Tournament on April 12–14, 2024. Abinav scored 3 out of 5 points in the FIDE Elite Section. This was a good performance by Abinav and his USCF rating increased from 2023 to 2039.

Oklahoma Chess Tournament

On April 13, 2024, Oklahoma School Chess Association organized the 28th Osco State Championship which featured a standout performance from our Chess Gaja student, Aayush, who finished 1st in the tournament and showcased significant progress during the event, securing a commendable score of 5 out of 5 rounds. This strong performance increased his USCF rating by 75 points, from 1382 to 1457.

Florida Chess Tournament

Alpha and Omega conducted Alpha-Omega 2024 on April 13, 2024, in Orlando, Florida. In the 6–12 section, Gokul tied for 2nd place with a score of 3.5 out of 5 points.

Portland Chess Tournament

Prahlada competed in the 2024 Oregon State Individual Championship, held from April 12th to 13th. He was part of a team of six kids who clinched the Chess for Success 2024 State 1st title, surpassing the record set by the 2019 team in the 25/25 games. In the Individual Championship, Prahlada secured 3rd place by triumphing in 4 out of 5 games.

Pennsylvania Chess Tournament

On April 13, 2024, Internet Chess Club organized the 2024 CCA April Classic on ICC which featured a standout performance from our Chess Gaja student, Vihaan, who showcased significant progress during the event, securing a commendable score of 2 out of 5 rounds. This strong performance increased his USCF rating by 31 points, from 1692 to 1723.
