Chess Gaja students showed excellence and showcased their talents in multiple events held in the United States this fortnight (March 28–April 3, 2024). We have segmented our student performances by state in this blog!
Texas Chess Tournament
Shricharan finished 1st in the Sunday Swiss conducted by the Texas Chess Center on March 31, 2024. In the open section, Shricharan scored 2.5 out of 3 points. This good performance increased his USCF rating from 1489 to 1532.
North Carolina Chess Tournament
On March 31, 2024, the Charlotte Chess Center organized the CCC Spring 2024 GM/IM Norm Invitational (32), which featured a standout performance from our Chess Gaja student, Vaseegaran, who showcased significant progress during the event, securing a commendable score of 6 out of 9 rounds. This strong performance increased his USCF rating by 26 points, from 2297 to 2323.
The Charlotte Chess Center conducted the 2024 Charlotte Spring Open on March 31, 2024. Vihaan finished 20th by scoring 2.5 out of 5 points in the Championship Section. This was a good performance by Gurugrahan and his USCF rating at the end of the event was 2018.
Connecticut Chess Tournament
On March 31, 2024, the Continental Chess Association organized the 16th Annual Open At Foxwoods, which featured a standout performance from our Chess Gaja student, Priyansh, who showcased significant progress during the event, securing a commendable score of 5.5 out of 7 rounds. This strong performance increased his USCF rating, from 2171 to 2188.
