Chronicles of Chess Champions from Chess Gaja: January 2 to January 8, 2025

Our Chess Gaja students continue to showcase their remarkable talent, passion, and strategic acumen on the chessboard! Here’s a celebration of the outstanding performances from our champions during the first week of January 2025.

Frisco, Texas

Sreevarshan participated in the Frisco Swiss on January 5, 2025, organized by the Texas Chess Center. Entering with a USCF rating of 1498, he scored 2.5 out of 4, increasing his rating to 1509. This performance highlights his steady progress and determination to excel in competitive chess.

Boston, Massachusetts

Priyansh took part in the 13th Annual Boston Chess Congress from January 3-5, 2025, organized by the Continental Chess Association. With a starting USCF rating of 2204, Priyansh scored 3 out of 5 in a strong field, raising his rating to 2212. His consistent performance at such a competitive level continues to affirm his standing as one of Chess Gaja’s top players.

San Diego, California

Ruhan participated in Gambito -1079 on January 4, 2025, organized by the San Diego Chess Club. Entering with a USCF rating of 2014, Ruhan scored 2 out of 4, elevating his rating to 2036. This outstanding achievement further solidifies his position as a rising chess star with the ability to excel under pressure.

Vian also competed in Gambito -1079, starting with a USCF rating of 1626. He scored 1.5 out of 4, boosting his rating to 1638. Vian’s efforts and determination continue to drive his growth in the competitive chess scene.

Milpitas, California

The 2025 U.S. Junior Congress National Championship, organized by Bay Area Chess from January 3–5, 2025, witnessed two extraordinary performances:

  • Ammar, starting at 1001, also scored 5 out of 6, achieving a rating increase to 1060 and winning 1st place in the tournament.
  • Khesav, with a starting rating of 757, delivered an exceptional result, scoring 5 out of 6 and elevating his rating to 906.

Their brilliant strategies and hard work brought fantastic results!
