Chronicles of Chess Champions from Chess Gaja: February 13 to February 19, 2025

Our Chess Gaja students continue to showcase their extraordinary chess skills in tournaments across the country! Here’s a look at their latest achievements as they compete at the highest level.

Irving, Texas

Yugan competed in the 16th Annual Southwest Class Championship from February 13 to February 17, 2025, organized by the Continental Chess Association. With a starting USCF rating of 1516, he scored 4.5 out of 7, leading to a slight rating increase to 1519.

Akshay entered with a rating of 1528 and displayed remarkable improvement, scoring 5.5 out of 7 and achieving a phenomenal rating jump to 1724.

Sanjay started with a USCF rating of 1887 and dominated the tournament with an outstanding 6 out of 7, earning 1st place and boosting his rating to 1950.

Frisco, Texas

Sreevarshan took part in the Frisco Swiss on February 16, 2025, organized by the Texas Chess Center. With a USCF rating of 1492, he scored 2 out of 4, earning a slight rating boost to 1495.

Nashville, Tennessee

Shyam competed in the Valentine’s Day Quads on February 14, 2025, organized by the Nashville Chess Center. He entered the event with a USCF rating of 850 and scored 1.5 out of 3, improving his rating to 876.

Parsippany, New Jersey

Priyansh played in the 2025 World Amateur Team Tournament from February 15 to February 17, 2025, organized by the New Jersey State Chess Federation. With a starting USCF rating of 2226, he demonstrated great skill, scoring 4 out of 6, resulting in a minor rating increase to 2228.

Milpitas, California

Surya competed in the 2025 US Amateur Team West from February 15 to February 17, 2025, organized by Bay Area Chess. He scored 3.5 out of 6, leading to a rating increase from 1482 to 1519.

San Diego, California

Vian participated in Gambito-1084 on February 15, 2025, organized by the San Diego Chess Club. Entering with a USCF rating of 1710, he showcased a strong performance, scoring 3 out of 4, which increased his rating to 1763.
