Our Chess Gaja students continue to shine in competitive chess arenas across the nation! This week, we celebrate the determination and achievements of two dedicated players who demonstrated their prowess in prestigious tournaments.

Lewisville, Texas

Tanav showcased incredible form at the Luis Salinas 80th Annual Texas State and Amateur, held from May 23 to May 26, 2025, and sponsored by Tarrant County Chess Club. Entering with a USCF rating of 1539, Tanav played a strong tournament, scoring 4.5 out of 7, and saw a remarkable rating increase to 1688. This performance is a testament to his evolving strategic mastery and composure under pressure.

Redmond, Washington

Patrick took part in the Washington Open, organized by the Washington Chess Federation from May 24 to May 26, 2025. He entered the tournament with a USCF rating of 896 and put up a solid fight across all rounds, scoring 3.5 out of 6, and nudging his rating up to 904. Patrick’s consistency and growth reflect his dedication to continual improvement.
