Our Chess Gaja students continue to demonstrate focus, progress, and fighting spirit on the board. From Illinois to Texas, here’s how our students performed in tournaments held on August 2 and 3, 2025.

Illinois

Vidyut competed in the 2025 Elite Chess Open held in Lisle, IL on August 3, organized by Elite Chess. Scoring 2.5 out of 4, Vidyut gained +8 rating points, moving from 1040 to 1048. A solid performance that reflects steady growth, especially in a competitive open setting.

Texas

Texas saw two of our dedicated students take part in rated events hosted by the Texas Chess Center, both showing encouraging performances:

  • Akshay played in the Plano Swiss on August 2 in Plano, TX, scoring an excellent 3.5 out of 4, which earned him a +19 rating gain, climbing from 1769 to 1788. With such a strong score, Akshay came very close to a perfect event, showcasing his sharp preparation and consistency.
  • Roy participated in the Frisco Swiss on August 3, also held in Plano, TX. He scored 1.5/4, gaining +8 points to move from 1455 to 1463. Even in challenging rounds, Roy showed resilience and earned rating progress.

Keep playing boldly, trusting your preparation, and embracing the challenge!
