California
Vian had a busy week, competing in two challenging events:
- On August 6, he played in the Rayansh Maheshwari Open in San Diego, CA, organized by the San Diego Chess Club. Despite a tough score of 0.5/5, he managed to gain +8 rating points, moving from 1772 to 1780—a testament to his willingness to take on stronger opponents.
- Just a few days later, on August 10, he participated in the 30th Annual Pacific Coast Open in Irvine, CA, hosted by the Continental Chess Association, scoring 2.5/6 and edging up his rating from 1755 to 1756.
Georgia
Anhad competed in the North Atlanta Chess Club Pizza Scholastic in Suwanee, GA on August 9. With a strong 2.5/4 score, he earned +32 rating points, jumping from 844 to 876—a promising sign of steady improvement.
Texas
Our Texas players made their mark in multiple events:
- Tanav delivered a perfect performance at the Many Springs 148 tournament in North Richland Hills, TX on August 9, scoring 3/3 and gaining +23 points, moving from 1722 to 1745. His flawless score was one of the standout achievements of the week.
- Roy participated in the Frisco Swiss in Plano, TX on August 10, hosted by the Texas Chess Center. He scored 2/4, adding a remarkable +35 points to his rating, climbing from 1412 to 1447.
