Rising Stars of Chess Gaja

July 1–16, 2026
The first half of July took Chess Gaja students from the tournament halls of Georgia to the crowded weekend opens of California, and the results were well worth celebrating. Headlining the fortnight is a breakthrough 76-point rating leap, the kind of jump that reflects months of quiet, disciplined preparation finally paying off at the board. Elsewhere, steady gains and a hard-earned tournament placement showed that progress doesn’t always arrive in one dramatic swing — sometimes it’s built game by game, tournament by tournament. Whether it was a marathon eight-round open or a tight three-round weekend event, every student on this list showed the composure and fight that Chess Gaja coaches love to see. Congratulations to everyone below — keep pushing those ratings, and those pieces, forward! ♟️
