Chess Gaja students once again showcased their talent across the United States from September 17 to 21, 2025. From California to Minnesota and Washington, our students took part in competitive events, demonstrating consistency, determination, and steady growth.

California

California saw strong participation this week.

  • Vian played in the Vian Parikh Open in San Diego on September 17, scoring 3/6 and boosting his rating from 1803 to 1826.
  • Tharsikan competed in the US Amateur U1000 Championship in Milpitas on September 20, scoring an impressive 3.5/5 with a huge rating gain of +102 (521 → 623).
  • Anika joined the Tri-Valley Open Sept 2026 in Dublin on September 21, finishing with 2/4.
  • Uppilli participated in the Tri-Valley Open Sept 2025 on the same date, scoring 1.5/4 and moving his rating from 854 to 859.

Minnesota

In Plymouth, Sanat played in the Wayzata Free Fall Open on September 20, scoring 2.5/4 with steady progress in his provisional rating (303P12 → 311P16).

Washington

Vyom participated in the Slava Mikhailuk USCF Swiss on September 21 in Redmond, scoring 3/5 and achieving a fantastic +91 rating point jump (503 → 594).

Special Highlights

Kanav participated in the INTCHESS Asia Rapid Series 2025 – Open Category. Kanav secured an impressive 3rd place finish with 5 points out of 7 rounds! This outstanding result is a reflection of his hard work, consistency, and learning mindset, supported by the guidance of GM Priyadharshan Kannappan and the dedicated efforts of the Chess Gaja Team.
