Chess Gaja students continue to shine with remarkable performances across the globe! This week, our young champions made their mark in tournaments held in India and the United States, earning strong scores, rating gains, and notable finishes that reflect their dedication and progress.

Karnataka, India

In Karnataka, Hitesh represented Chess Gaja in the 3rd Brigade U-07 Rapid Chess Tournament 2025, a KSCA-rated event .He delivered an excellent performance, scoring 5.5 points out of 7 and finishing 5th overall. With a performance rating of 1630, this is an impressive achievement for such a young player born in 2018, demonstrating both composure and promising talent at the board.

California

In Milpitas, Tharsikan participated in the 2025 CalChess Grade Level Championship (BAC 3246) organized by Bay Area Chess. He scored 3.0 out of 5 points, increasing his rating from 652 to 663, reflecting consistent progress.

Meanwhile, in Irvine, Surya and Vian competed in the 20th Annual Los Angeles Open, organized by the Continental Chess Association.
Surya scored 2.0 out of 5 points, gaining valuable experience and improving his rating from 1684 to 1704.
Vian stood out with an impressive 4.0 out of 5 points, raising his rating from 1848 to 1882 — one of the week’s top performances!

Washington

In Bothell, Vihaan participated in the U1400 event organized by Sri Chess Academy. He scored 2.0 out of 4 points, increasing his rating from 553 to 561, showing steady improvement and fighting spirit.

Vermont

In Burlington, Vivek took part in the 2025 McGrath Memorial Vermont State Championship conducted by the Vermont Chess Association. He scored 3.5 out of 5 points, improving his rating from 1620 to 1659, capping off a strong showing against a competitive field.
