Chronicles of Chess Champions: Feb 7–8, 2026

The first half of February brought a wave of strong performances from Chess Gaja students across multiple states. From perfect scores to big rating jumps, our players showed consistency, confidence, and fighting spirit.

California (Milpitas)

Tharsikan competed in the ICC Girls4Chess February Tournament on 7/2/2026, organized by Girls4Chess. Scoring 3.0/4, Tharsikan recorded one of the biggest rating gains of the week, climbing from 756 to 892 (+136). This is a standout improvement and a clear sign of rapid progress.

Virginia (Fairfax)

Tarun played in the SKCA Fairfax Quads on 7/2/2026, hosted by Silver Knights Chess Academy. He scored 2.0/4 and improved his rating from 1058 to 1069 (+11). A steady performance that adds valuable experience at this level.

Texas (Texas)

In Plano, Shankaranarayanan took part in the Plano Swiss on 7/2/2026, organized by Texas Chess Center. He scored 2.0/4 and gained +26 rating points, moving from 1598 to 1624—a solid and encouraging jump.

Meanwhile in Frisco, Yugan delivered a fantastic performance at the Parkside Community Classic on 8/2/2026, hosted by Murphy Learning Center. With a perfect score of 4.0/4, he edged his rating from 1837 to 1844 (+7)—a first-place style finish and a confidence-boosting result.

Connecticut (Windsor)

Priyansh competed in the 2026 Connecticut Classical on 8/2/2026, organized by Connecticut State Chess Association. He scored 3.5/6 and improved his rating from 2243 to 2255 (+12), continuing his steady climb at a high competitive level.
